Choosing Medicare coverage in Pennsylvania is very easy

First, the insured (you) must be signed up with Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B you will need this to sign up for a medicare health insurance plan.
On your Medicare card it will say Part A and Part B below it with the dates you signed up this is how you know if you are registered
Part A is automatic when a U.S. citizen turns age 65
Part B is optional you must sign up to get insured

In most of these plans all you have to pay is the monthly premium and the Part B deductible ($131 for 2007) and all your out of pocket expenses are satisfied for the year You can choose any Doctor in Pennsylvania to receive care from. Every Doctor in Pennsylvania must take Medicare patients due to the Mom Law.

  1. HMO This plan works like a regular HMO plan with copays for health care services. In this plan the insurance company is your primary care and Medicare is your secondary care. Out of pocket expenses are your monthly premium and copays throughout the year

  1. PPO This plan works like a regular PPO plan with deductible and coinsurance for health care services. In this plan the insurance company is your primary care and Medicare is your secondary care Out of pocket expenses are your monthly premium, deductibles, and coinsurance payments throughout the year

Third, choosing a Prescription Drug Plan Medicare Part D. There are very many options available to you. This is what you should look for.

  1. No Deductible
  2. Full Coverage
  3. Coverage in Donut Hole (where coverage stops)
